 British Touring Car Championship
 The BTCC is the most famous saloon car racing championship in the world, with massive television exposure and huge race day crowds. In 2006, Britain’s most prestigious motor racing championship will be fought out over ten race weekends at the top race circuits across the UK.
Each meeting will be covered live by ITV1 and attendance figures will equal those of many Premier division football matches.
 What makes the BTCC one of the UK’s most popular sporting attractions is the fact it is geared towards entertaining the public. It is contested by highly skilled, professional racing drivers and teams using cars that resemble what most of us drive on the road every day, with racing versions of cars most of us drive every day. In other words, it’s identifiable.
Vauxhall and SEAT field official teams, with privateer squads running cars from Honda, MG, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Lexus. The public – including children who can get into meetings for free – are also invited into the pit lane to meet the teams and drivers for autographs and give-aways. On the track, the action is fast and furious, with plenty of drama and controversy.

World Touring Car Championship
 The modern World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) started in 2005, replacing the old European Touring Car Championship. It is generally considered to be the most prestigious touring car championship in the world.
Running at major international racing facilities, this series is heavily supported by BMW, Alfa Romeo and SEAT, with Chevrolet and Honda also showing limited support.
The 2007 World Touring Car Championship takes place over 22 rounds at eleven tracks around the world including Italy, UK (Brands Hatch) and Brazil. It is reserved for Super 2000 Cars, Diesel 2000 cars, and Super Production Cars. The Championship comprises one title of FIA World Touring Car Champion for Drivers and one title of FIA World Touring Car Champion for Manufacturers.
